Description
This ceremonial watch-fob is a rare 1924 silver and enamel jubilee watch-fob of the Latvian interwar student corporation regalia. It belonged to the Latvian student corporation Fraternitas Metropolitana, founded in 1924 in Riga – Latvia, as the successor of Fraternitas Petropolitana (St. Petersburg, 1896). The enamel shield shows the fraternity’s colours — violet, gold, and green — while the central badge depicts a castle and rising sun, scales of justice, and a book inscribed “1896–1924.” The motto reads: “Vientiem spēkiem par godu, drauszu Tēvzemi” (With united strength for honour and Fatherland).
