Description
This is a cupro-nickel coin issued in 1965 to commemorate the death of Sir Winston Churchill. The coin depicts an embossed Winston Churchill portrait on reverse side with the text “Churchill”. The obverse side has a Queen Elizabeth II head profile with the text “Elizabeth II Dei Gratia Regina FD 1965”. The QE II design was by Mary Gillick and the Winston Churchill by Oscar Nemon.
